Scott Turner - Co-Chairman

Born Neville Scott Turner, April 24th, 1962 in Columbus, MS to Neville and Ann Turner. Scott's father was a Chief Master Sargent for the US Air Force which accounts for his various travels and relocations along the way, including several years in Oslo, Norway. Scott's primary residence was Homestead, FL where he attended South Dade - Miami High. After graduation, Scott spent several years working in the Miami restaurant scene before relocating to New Orleans. Once there he found himself part of two "5 Star" restaurants, including Commanders Palace, and Arnaudos, where he worked with Master Chef, Emril Lagasse, and later managed a bar on Bourbon Street! After 3 years of the hustle and bustle of the "Big Easy", Scott relocated to Denver, CO. It was there that he met his partner and soulmate of 23 years. They later relocated to Knoxville, TN and opened what was to be one of the most successful wallcovering retail and design centers in the U.S. Scott was the driving force behind what was then one of the first online / e-commerce wallcovering retail websites, which he developed and maintained. In 2005 Scott's mother was diagnosed with brain cancer, and after 18 years of business ownership, he and his partner decided to retire to St. Petersburg, FL to attend to her needs and start a new chapter in their lives as well. Scott has always tried his best to encourage others to accept the LGBT lifestyle. His activisim began as early as his high school prom, where he boldly invited a male date. Scott has always pushed for equality for the LGBT Community. Scott has fallen in love with the open minded nature of St. Petersburg and the entire Tampa Bay Area in which he is now a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service. Upon relocating to St. Petersburg, Scott almost immediately got involved with St. Pete Pride, and for years was the Volunteer Coordinator of all Pride events. Scott is truly excited to move forward, as Co-Chairman, and make this and future Pride celebrations, the best ever for the Tampa Bay community.
